Starbucks new Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino gets a gold star!!!

If you haven’t gotten to try the newer Midnight Mint Mocha Blended Creme Frappuccino at Starbucks yet, I would highly recommend it. It was one of my favorite frappuccinos awhile back when Starbucks had their 1/2 off Frappuccino Happy Hour. I definitely give it a gold star, and it is one of my new favorites. I also am a big fan of the new Smores creme Frappuccino.

If you are looking for a description to make your mouth water, here it is: “We’ve paired the dynamic duo of dark cocoa and refreshing mint with milk and ice. Next we infuse the blended chocolatey beverage with cooling mint sugar crystals, cut in a layer of whipped cream, then top it with more whipped cream and a dusting of dark cocoa” (description courtesy of https://www.starbucks.com).

Since it is only at Starbucks for a limited time, if you want to try it, it may be good to get it before it is gone!!!

Starbucks Six New Fan Flavor Frappuccinos! Get them before they’re gone!

Fan Flavors!!!  Six new frappuccinos!!! At Starbucks!!! I am a bit behind promoting this, but there are six new Frappuccino blended beverages inspired by Starbucks fans now out at Starbucks. They are Cotton Candy, Lemon Bar, Red Velvet Cake, Cinnamon Roll, Cupcake, and Caramel Cocoa Cluster.  I have tried the Caramel Cocoa Cluster (my favorite so far) and the Cotton Candy.  According to the barista in my neighborhood Starbucks, the Cotton Candy one has been super popular and she thinks it should definitely be continued, however personally she really likes the Cinnamon Roll one.

I haven’t heard how long these special frappuccinos will last, but the Starbucks website says to get ready to start voting on Friday June 19, 2015 for your favorite.  My suspicion is that the favorite will be continued and the others will be cut, but that is just a hunch.  It will be fun to vote for a favorite, and I encourage you to get one before they are gone.

One final cool thing.  The last time when I was at Starbucks, I asked the barista lots of questions about the new frappuccinos, and I told her that I blog and promote Starbucks.  She thought that was neat, and actually Starbucks related search terms are the main search terms that people use and find my blog.  Everybody loves Starbucks!  Tonight when I went through the drive-through, I got the same barista, and she said “oh, you are the blogger.”  I thought that was cool! Honestly,  I would love to be a brand ambassador for Starbucks if they ever would have me do that to promote them.  Starbucks is one of my favorite places!!!

Here is a link if you want to check out how Starbucks makes each fan flavor or in order to vote starting on 6/19:

The Starbucks new S’mores Frappuccino is a hit!  I had it for my first Starbucks Frappuccino Happy Hour drink of 2015.  The Starbucks website gives this mouth-watering description: “Marshmallow-infused whipped cream, milk chocolate sauce, a creamy blend of graham, coffee, milk and ice finished off with more marshmallowy whipped cream and a graham cracker crumble.”

Starbucks and Starfield: The Perfect Combination (I checked out Starbucks NEW Chestnut Praline Latte)!

I recently heard that Starbucks has a NEW seasonal drink, the Chestnut Praline Latte.  I was intrigued and eager to check it out.  While uncertain if I have ever had pralines before  (yeah, maybe I have led a sheltered life), but I was game to give it a try.  Call me a fan of Starbucks, which would be a true understatement.  So, I got a Chestnut Praline Latte on my drive back home from visiting my family for Thanksgiving.

It seemed appropriate to pair the latte with a cd from one of my favorite bands, Starfield, a Canadian praise and worship band with a slight rock edge, who is not very well known in the United States.  A quick side note: I once road-tripped to support Starfield years ago when they were nominated for rock/contemporary album of the year at the Dove (GMA) Awards for Christian artists.  I did a lot of music promotion “back in the day,” and I was always going to concerts and volunteering at promotional tables for Christian radio in multiple cities.  I’m kind of surprised Starfield still flies under the radar today, but sometimes that can be kind of cool to me.  I am definitely not one who is into things because other people are; while sometimes I can be influenced,  I think it’s important to follow your own drumbeat, too. But, since I am going on a tangent, I’ll get back to my story.

So, I sipped my Chestnut Praline Latte and listened to songs like “Everything is Beautiful” (which is an AMAZING song to listen to when you are feeling down), and “Love is the Reversal”, which I can listen to on repeat and never get sick of it.  I pondered deep thoughts with songs lyrics like “Yeah I believe our secret longings Tell us that we’re not at home. But grace reclaims what the world disowns” and “Yeah, nothing here’s as good as it should be ‘Cause this is the rehearsal” (song “Love is the reversal” on “Beauty in the Broken” cd by Starfield, copyright 2006).  While I must say that the Chestnut Praline Latte is not one of my favorite Starbucks drink, it is worth checking out at least once.  As their seasonal drinks typically go, you can only get them for a very limited time, so check it out before it’s gone.  And, if you couldn’t already pick up my extremely subtle plug for the band Starfield, you may want to check them out if you are looking for a new band.  Some of their older cds are harder to find in Christian bookstores, but you can find them on Spotify and see what you think.  You can also check out some more info on them on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starfield_(band)).  I highly recommend their debut album “Starfield” (with has probably their best known song, “Filled With Your Glory”) that came out in 2004, as well as the more slight rock edged “Beauty in the Broken” from 2006.

***For those who are curious what is in Starbucks new Chestnut Praline Latte, here is that info courtesy of http://www.starbucks.com: “Espresso, steamed milk, and flavors of caramelized chestnuts and spices. Topped with whipped cream and spiced praline crumbs.”

Starbucks 2014 Happy Hour Edition (May 1-10, 2014 from 3-5 pm)

Starbucks Happy Hour is back for Half off Frappuccino blended beverages from May 1-10, 2014 from 3-5 pm.  Woohoo!  I’m definitely behind the times promoting this awesome special due to the busyness of my life of late (re: an exciting new car purchase and some vacation time largely without internet), so my apologies to all the people who have scrolled through my old Happy Hour blog posts trying to figure out the date for the Starbucks 2014 Happy Hour Frappuccino special.

But an exciting new twist this year is for My Starbucks Rewards Members!  If you are a My Starbucks Rewards Member, then you can get an extra hour of Frappuccino Half off Happy Hour from 5-6 pm during May 6-10, 2014.  This is great for working people who would largely miss this amazing promotion if not for the extra hour.  Since I am a big fan of Starbucks, especially of their frappuccino blended drinks,  I have a Starbucks gold card, but you can also register ANY Starbucks gift card that you have and become a My Starbucks Rewards member.  Then you can use the gift card (and reload it) and receive the aforementioned special during the alloted time period.  Please see the Starbucks website for Starbucks Rewards member information for this free program which has some cool perks, or if you want any other info about the Half off Happy Hour for Frappuccinos.  Enjoy!

Starbucks Holiday Winter Drinks are here (2013 edition)!!!

I am not a winter fan, and the thought of snowy winters every year in my native state of Illinois usually makes me want to move to California, truth be told.  Or perhaps Texas.  However, one perk of winter is the arrival of Starbucks holiday drinks.  Yes, we can debate about how it is not winter yet and technically still is fall, but holiday time is upon us as stores bring out Christmas displays and people start Christmas shopping.   I believe Starbucks still has one fall seasonal drink, pumpkin spice latte, available, but you may want to get it before Thanksgiving when it may become passé.

I received an e-mail from Starbucks on 11/1/13 announcing “What’s red and full of joy?” (answer: their red holiday cups).  Starbucks holiday drinks are out!  Their trio of holiday drinks is Caramel Brulee Latte, Peppermint Mocha, and Gingerbread Latte.  (Note: menu may vary by location).  I feel late to the party, as I kept seeing my friends on Facebook post pics of themselves with Starbucks holiday drinks.  Some of my friends love Starbucks as much as I do, and in the case of my friend Amber, probably more.  Finally, I went to Starbucks this past Thursday and got a Peppermint Mocha.  While I am more of an Andes mint girl, that is not a mocha option, so Peppermint it was.  I found out that you can get that year round, according to the Starbucks barrista, but only you don’t get the chocolate shavings, which in my opinion makes the drink.  The Starbucks drive-through guy also mentioned the eggnog latte when I said I was excited about the seasonal drinks being out.  It seems the eggnog latte is not getting as much publicity as the other holiday drinks, but I think it may be out already, too.

Unfortunately, the Starbucks iPhone app does NOT list the holiday drinks yet, which I find surprising for publicity sake and for providing consumers detailed descriptions and nutritional information of Starbucks holiday drinks.   Perhaps they will update their drink listings on the app in the future, but for now I want to give a shout-out to say if you are a fan of Starbucks holiday drinks, they have arrived if you want to go get one!

It is hard to write about Starbucks and not want to go there, so I think I may take my own advice and run out and get the Caramel Brulee Latte.  Woohoo!
